Chakli & Murukku

Chakli is called Murukku in south India. Chakli, also known as Chakri, is a very popular Indian Snack. It is made in several different ways depending on the part of the country where it is made. It can be made with either wheat flour or rice flour with spices added to it. Then the flour is laid out in spiral form and fried in oil. There are also diet variations which are made with minimal oil and are a great choice for people wanting to eat diet food. They taste great with tea or coffee.
